October Favorites & Monthly Goals

written by Nida November 6, 2017

October is my favorite month, not just cause it’s my birthday month but also because I love all the fall and Halloween vibes. Being a horror movie addict, I use to be thrilled about new releases around Halloween. I have had a chance to attend so many amazing events in the past month or so, and get to try so many awesome products as well. So let’s get into what I am hooked for the Month of October.

The Bates Motel  & Stranger Things

So I have been on a hunt to start watching a good show for such a long time, maybe after finishing Breaking Bad. Although we had Game of Thrones on our “watching next” list we jumped to Stranger things & Bates Motel. I am seriously hooked on Bates Motel, every episode has twists and turns. But you will enjoy it only if you love suspense and thrillers. In addition to that, I love horror movies but not the crappy ones. Movies like Annabelle and The Conjuring.

Monthly Goals:
Using my beautiful notebook from Sheendipity, and from now onwards, I am accountable to you guys for my monthly goals and next month I will discuss If I was able to achieve them or not. I am sure it will be a hit or miss but better than not trying eh? so here goes nothing:

– I want to make some career choices & find a path of what I wanted to Pursue in the field of Marketing.
– I want to start working on a Social Cause to create awareness & try to make a difference, somehow (I still have to figure this one out).
– I want to get back to exercising– AGAIN!! ( so bad at this)
– I want to finish the book How to be a Bawse which honestly I was not enjoying in the beginning but loving the second half.
– Feel more connected to Allah.

Loving in Beauty:
Soap & Glory

First of all, can we take a moment to admire their packaging? ok. Let’s continue. The first time I saw Soap & Glory was in Dubai, in Boots Drug Store. I was in awe for their packaging. Soap & Glory is originally from England and now they made their way to Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart. Woo Hoo!
Currently, I am obsessed with these products & cant stop using them.

Creamy Clean On Me Shower Gel
CAD $14
Don’t you love it when you smell amazing after taking a nice shower? And your skin is Soft & well moisturized too. Creamy Clean on Me shower gel contains natural mandarin peel extract and scented with the original Pink fragrance, which by the way I am in love with. There was a time when I stopped investing in a good shower gel because they all felt the same but since I used this one, the creamy texture got me addicted.

Smoothie Star Body Buttercream
CAD $18

A super nourishing, pistachio, almond and sweet vanilla scented body buttercream for irresistibly smooth and ultra-soft skin. You know, I was sold after reading  Buttercream and sweet Vanilla. But when I tried it, that’s when the magic happened. It’s lightly whipped, contains shea butter, coconut oil, almond oil and cocoa butter, basically all the essential oils needed to make the perfect moisturizer. I can’t wait for winter to indulge in this jar of body butter.

Body Sprays
Original Pink
Sugar Crush
CAD $10

I am seriously enjoying both of them but leaning slightly towards Sugar Crush because it has a fruity lime twist. And Lime always gives a zesty fresh feeling. On the other hand, the original Pink scent is more like a Summer Breeze. And this one is slightly citrusy too. I love these bottles because of being lightweight and I can just throw them in my purse. Definitely, perfect for later in the evening touch up.

BASD Coffee Scrub (Mint)
CAD $19.99

If you guys remember, I went to this awesome Mindful Beauty event, It was all organic & Canadian products. In addition to all the fun, I found BASD Body care products there. Although Coffee scrubs always seem so enticing I never got a chance to try one until now. It smells like mint & works wonderful, taking off all the dead skin & gives a very smooth feeling. And the mint makes the whole experience so refreshing.

Always remember, Life won’t give you a second chance or any more days to do the things you love, so cherish every second & take the steering of your life and direct it to the path of Happiness.
Do the things you love, Be Happy!

Nida November 13, 2017 at 9:17 am

I know, exercising is fun once you get the motivation to start but the whole thing is starting it lol. I need to push myself.

Umm Ruqaiya November 11, 2017 at 6:33 pm

I love how your goals are divided; something in career, something for society, something for personal health, something for personal growth through learning and something for spiritual growth.

Nida November 13, 2017 at 9:18 am

Oh yeaah!! I didn’t even notice that, Thanks for mentioning and actually noticing that. 🙂

Umme Hafsa November 12, 2017 at 9:08 pm

The products look soo cute and pretty, I’m most keen on the coffee scrub – they’ve been around for a while now but I haven’t got round to buying them. Love the little reminder at the bottom too – life in this world isn’t something we get to do again, so important to remember ?

Nida November 13, 2017 at 9:18 am

Even I have been eyeing coffee scrubs for a while and this time I actually get to try them. Pretty Amazing!!

Nida November 13, 2017 at 9:20 am

Bates Motel is a thriller with twists and turns, if you are into that kind of shows, you will love it. I had been eyeing soap & glory for so long and finally loving it.

Nida November 13, 2017 at 9:21 am

Hehe yeah!! I remember reading about how it helps with stretch marks and stuff. Finally, trying it and so far loving it.

Akeela November 15, 2017 at 6:02 pm

I love Soap and Glory! especially this time of year when Boots usually has its Christmas gift sets out and on offer too (I love a good bargain too :)). I have been wanting to get into stranger things for a while, think I might start watching after reading this post. Never thought about Bates Motel, so thanks for the tip!

Madhiya Qureshi November 17, 2017 at 4:59 pm

I love Soap & Glory! A lot of their products are vegan and hence halal too (if we ensure there’s no alcohol in them). Thanks for the reviews!

Multicultural Motherhood November 18, 2017 at 7:46 am

I must say I cannot watch horror movies these days. I get so scared. Lol. Good luck with your monthly goals! I have just started making monthly goals too.

Afra November 18, 2017 at 11:19 pm

I love soap and glory. I miss it ever since I moved from UK. May Allah allow you to achieve all your goals and more inshAllah. Ameen

Iman November 19, 2017 at 10:55 am

This is such a good idea – it helps to keep you accountable when you share your monthly goals publicly! I cannot do anything horror – not even for a minute, so you’re brave!

Dilraz Kunnummal November 19, 2017 at 11:07 am

Putting it out there!! Hmmmm… double edged sword.. it makes you more accountable but the bad side is that it makes you more accountable 😀
All the best and hope you achieve your targets!

K.T. Lynn November 19, 2017 at 2:40 pm

I’m very interested in your planner! Goal setting hasn’t always worked for me, but remaining accountable in a public forum is def a way to keep yourself motivated 🙂 I feel like the initial stages are great, but then when the unexpected happens….EEK! LOL

Lubna November 20, 2017 at 9:05 am

These products are tempting me to buy…..that buttercream is something I am looking out for this winter season….love that card…start with Bismillah and end with InshaAllah
