So April is here & what crappy weather OMG! , no idea what’s up with global warming. Anyways, can you believe we are done with almost four months of 2018? I keep asking myself, am I really making the most of my time? honestly, I don’t feel like I do. Sometimes I feel, that I still haven’t done the things I always wanted to do. sigh.
The past month was more about getting back to routine after being out of Toronto for almost three months. Traveling back forth from Dubai to Karachi, mostly hubby’s work-related. But getting to see my parents and friends in Dubai was definitely a Blessing. So technically my Meeqa( Girl’s Family) is in Pakistan and the feeling of being so far away from them is just not a good one, that’s why I jump on any opportunity I get to visit them. hehe 🙂
Let’s focus on some life goals, shall we?
Monthly Goals/Updates:
These days, I am mostly lost & constantly trying to evaluate what I really want. Honestly, it’s not a good place to be stuck at but I am sure InshaAllah with time & constant brainstorming, I will find what really makes me happy.
– Baby Z is almost 2 and a half and we started sending her to pre-school just two days in a week for three hours. She’s really enjoying it and it’s a fun way for her to interact and learn.
– Currently, in a phase where I am constantly job hunting which itself is a job hehe.
– Also, sometimes I want to drop the whole idea and just start up something of my own. let’s see.
Struggling With:
– Being a mother, It’s a bittersweet moment to see my daughter growing up and starting school but I don’t know now how to get back to my old life & manage the time when she is not there. Like you know that feeling: What do I do with this free time? (though I have so much to do lol)
Any recommendations would be great!
Currently Reading:
Just finished reading “The 40 rules of Love” By Elif Shafak— Ahh what a book A book that seriously spoke miles to me, it’s a bit slow but don’t stop reading… I have simply loved it every second, every page. I am definitely going to do a book review/ my favorite rules from this book, so stay tuned for that.
On the other hand, my previous read was “How to be a bawse” by Lilly Singh was a great book more about her struggles and the hurdles she faced while climbing the ladder to success. and also great tips if you want to start your own youtube channel. But overall a great fun inspirational book.
Loving in Beauty
Elizabeth Arden’s: Flawless Finish Everyday Perfection Bouncy Makeup
CAD $50
Omg, I love this one so much by Elizabeth Arden, It’s like a hybrid of a foundation & face powder. Combining the benefits of a powder and a cream in one bouncy gel formula. It’s super lightweight and blends effortlessly into the skin to deliver medium, buildable coverage. Totally giving a flawless and a natural-looking, long-wearing finish.
Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Everyday Perfection Bouncy Makeup is available in Hudson’s Bay, London Drugs, and Shoppers Drug Mart.
Nest Fragrances Candles:
CAD $56 – CAD $90
Candles are like my savior, lifting a bad mood or even turning my day around. When Nest Fragrances sent me a box with candles inside, I couldn’t wait to light them hehe. Birchwood pine classic and holiday votice were like Christmas and pine cones in a jar, seriously. Honestly, I had no idea their fragrance would fill up the room in no time.
What are some of your favorite Candles? Please share.
Marc Jacobs Nude Sheer Lipsticks:
CAD $38
Trying Marc Jacobs was like a dream come true. And believe me, it was definitely beyond my expectations. The application is so creamy & beautiful. This lipstick gives the most moisturized feeling & my lips definitely feel happier hehe. Too bad they are not that long lasting but I love the hydrating feeling. Also, it has a very cool magnetic cover.
Marble Slab from Home Depot
Free
Probably the most exciting product that I am currently using for my Flatlay Photography. I was about to purchase the Marble Slab but the employee at Home Depot found me one that had a bit of paint on, basically a damaged piece which I could easily use for my photography. Made me so happy! And seriously, it changed the photography game.
Hope you guys enjoyed this monthly update & seriously, I hope I could continue with writing posts hehe.
Lots of Love

I love your images so much! You capture very well sis. I love traveling and I’m here in Dubai so your hubby’s work is a great opportunity to travel however tiring definitely as a mom. I totally agree that time flew so fast and I’m on the same stage thinking if I have used my time fruitful or just wasted.
aww thank you so much for your message love.
Allhumdulliah it is really a wonderful feeling to see our kids growing in front of our eyes….love the products you shared here…all of them looks like must haves….I am eyeing those books…I have got one of them from your collection in the pic…but never found time to read it…will try to read it this summer…
Thank you so much, I hope you find the time to read the book and surely will love it as well. Which one is it by the way? I am glad you enjoyed my post.
Since you mentioned Global Warming and you’re a mom, you might want to google Midway Island by Chris Jordan- it’s a 3 minute video that’ll give you a whole new perspective on motherhood inshaAllah-
sadly, I have seen it and it just breaks my heart. Sigh! but definitely very inspiring as well. Thanks for sharing.
Oh wow I haven’t heard of Nest Fragrances Candles. I mist check them out!
Working from home gives me flexibility, you could try becoming a freelance writer if you are not already. I enjoyed your article and loved the pictures, did you take them yourself?
Yes love, I take the photos myself and definitely enjoy doing that. I will look into it.. thanks a bunch.
Ah the 40 rules of Love -an interesting book! It left me slightly confused but aspects that were interesting – Enjoy!
I know it was slightly confusing but definitely inspiring.
Awww! Kids grow up really fast and it really is a struggle when you have time we mothers don’t know what to do and when we are busy we crib that we dont’t get enough time. Trust me once you become a mom you tend to get confused on whether you should stick to a job or set up your own thing. Hope you find your calling soon.
haha seriously, you nailed it sister. Well explained. That’s exactly how I feel: lots and lots of confusion.
Have you thought about doing a course to discover what you believe Allah made you, uniquely, to achieve, and get started with it in a sustainable way? (For example, this Ramadan: http://www.sisters-achieve/courses/achieve-your-dunya-and-akhirah-dreams-course) Also, I love the scents candles sold as ‘Christmassy’ too, alhamdulillah.
JazakaAllah sister, I will surely check the link out and maybe that would be what I want to pursue in life. 🙂
Correction! sisters-achieve.com ‘Achieve your dunya and akhirah dreams’ course <3
