I am more of a lipstick person. For a while I stopped using lip pencils, they dried up my lips or maybe I was just being lazy lol. I noticed all these beauty bloggers flaunting the lip pencils so effortlessly, seriously they look gorgeous. Looking at them I wanted to get back in the lip pencil game. It was a perfect time to receive the Bite Beauty Lip Pencil & Amuse Bouche lipsticks to try out.
Here’s what I think about them.
Bite Beauty:
The concept behind the name is that the lipsticks are so good you could eat them. They are made with edible ingredients and there is a bite beauty lip lab where you can go and make your own lipstick shades, how cool is that. I guess you just have to book an appointment.
Here’s what the box contained:
- Amuse bouche Lipstick Honeycomb
- Amuse Bouche Lipstick Whiskey
- Lip Pencil 020 Beige Nude
- Lip Pencil 044 Rich Mahogany
Lip Pencils:
At first, when I swatched the lipstick and the lip pencil I was surprised at how creamy the lip pencil was. It was as creamy as the lipstick and I was sure it would glide without any effort. Also, they have 22 shades to pick from and some of the shades are gorgeous.
Texture: The texture is matte, very smooth, applies very easily and it’s long lasting as well. My lips tend to be dry because well living in Canada has its pros and cons. The winter here literally dries up anything and I felt that the lips need to be moisturized before using the lip pencils.
Shades: I really like the Beige Nude, I could play around with it more. On the contrary, Rich mahogany felt a bit dark for my taste. I wish they would have sent better shades.
Price: C$20 at Sephora
Amuse Bouche Lipsticks:
Lipsticks are simply gorgeous. I have used Bite Lipsticks before and these are up to the mark as well, very moist and pigmented.
Texture: While applying the lipstick I couldn’t help but notice how creamy it was, obviously because they have shea butter in it. Shea butter is probably the main ingredient for it to be so moisturizing.
Shades: I can say Honeycomb is a beige nude shade, and Whiskey is rich mahogany with red. Whiskey had a bit gothic look but I think I might be able to pull it off in Fall. Maybe mix it with a light shade. On the other hand, Honeycomb is a beautiful nude shade, perfect for daily basis. Amuse bouche has a wide selection of 34 shades to choose from.
Price: C$30 at Sephora
Overall, I was pretty impressed with the texture and the pigmentation. Also for C$20 the lip pencils are amazing. I must say because of bite beauty I might finally start using lip pencils again. I hope you enjoyed the review & this will help you in purchasing your desired lip pencils.
